EU Deforestation Regulation

EUDR-ready Ethiopian coffee

EU buyers must prove their coffee was not grown on land deforested after 2020. We make that easy:

GeolocationGPS polygons for our own farms, Gembo (110 ha) and Gube-Muleta (11.5 ha), and for registered outgrower plots
Land useCoffee grown under existing native forest shade; no forest clearing for coffee
TraceabilityEach lot linked to its source plots through station records
DocumentsPolygon files and due-diligence data shared with buyers
GPS polygon map of the Gulifa estate and outgrower plots for EUDR traceability
Mapped estate (green) and outgrower plots (red).

Quality control

From cherry to container

  1. Selective pickingOnly ripe red cherry is hand-picked on our estate and by outgrowers.
  2. Sorting and pulpingCherry is floated and sorted, then pulped at our washing station.
  3. Fermentation and washingWashed lots are fermented and washed in clean water channels.
  4. Sun dryingParchment and naturals dry slowly on raised African beds, with moisture checked to export standard.
  5. Milling and sortingCoffee is hulled, screen-graded and hand-sorted for defects before export.
  6. Cupping and inspectionEvery lot is cupped, matched to the approved sample and inspected by ECTA before shipment.
